- Safety comes first. All strikes must be controlled.
- Only light contact to the body is permitted for Youth Class students. Adult Class students are also allowed to use touch contact to the head.
- Striking below belt level is not allowed.
- Strikes should only be made to areas protected by equipment.
- Sparring gear including foot, hand, shin, chest, and head guards must be worn. Mouth guards and cups (for men) must also be worn when engaging in sparring.
- Students may only spar under the supervision of an instructor.
- Remember that sparring is NOT the same thing as fighting. It is a sport. The goal is to learn, not to win or to injure your partner.
